Stephen is a philosopher, diplomat, and writer, with a focus on intelligence and immortality.
He is the Executive Director of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, an interdisciplinary community for the future of artificial intelligence through technology, philosophy, and public policy. He is also a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, where he obtained a PhD in Metaphysics in 2001.
He will be giving the AIBE Summit’s opening speech.
Dr Stefanos Zafeiriou

Stefanos is a Senior Lecturer in Pattern Recognition/Statistical Machine Learning for Computer Vision in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London.
He also currently serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics the Image and Vision Computing Journal (IEEE is the world’s largest professional organisation for the advancement of technology). He has co-authored over 50 journal papers and published in the most prestigious journals in his field of research, such as the IEEE T-PAMI, the International Journal of Computer Vision, the IEEE T-IP, the IEEE T-NNLS, the IEEE T-VCG, and the IEEE T-IFS, and many papers in top conferences, such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML.

Founder and CEO @ Jukedeck
Ed is the founder of Jukedeck, an AI music composer which makes unique tracks for video producers. He holds a BA in Music from the University of Cambridge.
He founded Jukedeck as a London-based tech startup with funding from Cambridge Enterprise. Together with Patrick Stobbs, they raised seed funding in 2014, built a team of experts in machine learning, and launched the product. In 2015, they won TechCrunch Disrupt among a field of the 15 best startups and went on to raise a further £2M in venture capital. Today, Jukedeck is used by many customers including Google Developers and the Natural History Museum

Dr Carsten Sørensen
Associate Professor in Digital Innovation @ London School of Economics
Carsten is a professor of Information Systems and Innovation at LSE. He holds a BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Information Systems from Aalborg University, Denmark.
Since joining LSE, Dr. Sørensen has studied the business and consumer impact of mobile and ubiquitous information technology innovations. He has consulted and conducted executive teaching with a range of large international firms and public organisations, including Microsoft, Google, PA Consulting Group, IMF, Orange, Intel, and Vodafone.
He gave a speech on “The Effect of AI on Businesses and Startups” at AIBE 2017
Writer and Speaker on Artificial Intelligence
Calum is a best-selling author of 3 books on artificial intelligence and the co-author of 2 books focusing on the dot-com bubble.
He is a regular speaker on AI and related technologies and runs a blog on the subject at pandoras-brain.com. Prior to becoming a full-time writer and speaker, Calum had a 30-year career in business as a marketer, strategy consultant, and CEO. He maintains his interest in business by serving as Chairman and advising growing companies.

Hugo leads Innovation services for IBM Interactive Experience in EMEA.

Carlos is a Partner at Seedcamp, Europe’s largest startup program and seed-stage fund.
He was previously a network consultant, worked in tech R&D for stock trading in the US, and moved into VC for tech startups. Since joining Seedcamp in 2010, he has overseen several investments into AI, including Third Eye, Viz, Beagle, AiBuild, Reinfer, and UIPath. On November 23rd, Seedcamp hosted the “AI is Now” event on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Daniel is the CEO of Satalia, which provides AI-inspired solutions to solve industry’s hardest problems
He is the co-founder of the Advanced Skills Initiative, which transitions scientists into industry as data scientists. Daniel has a Masters and PhD in AI from UCL, and is also the Director of UCL’s Business Analytics MSc; applying AI to solve business/social problems. He lectures in Computer Science and Business.
Daniel has Advisory and Executive positions in many companies, holds an international Kauffman Global Entrepreneur Scholarship, and actively promotes entrepreneurship and technology innovation.

Senior Director @ Microsoft
Rob is a Senior Director and Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, focusing on cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
His team specifically focuses on early-phase technology adoption, including IoT, advanced analytics, machine learning, cognitive computing, and human-computer interaction. Previously, he worked as a Cloud Computing Specialist at MSCI, as well as a Technology Strategist at RiskMetrics Group.
He gave a speech on “Democratisation of Artificial Intelligence” at AIBE 2017.
