Kevin Gill

Chief Technology Officer, IBM UK Blockchain Global Business Consulting Organisation

Kevin is the CTO of IBM’s UK I Blockchain Global Business Consulting Organisation. Kevin has delivered many blockchain implementations, starting 3 years ago in Insurance and Financial Markets, and across all other sectors. Kevin is part of IBM’s Cognitive Process Reengineering capability, which covers both Blockchain as well as AI.

Kevin believes that Blockchain enables game changing transformational innovation across a business network. Blockchain together with AI can take this to the next level, giving the potential to add automation and intelligence into the business network. He sees that the ‘Back Office’ in Financial Institutions, and Supply Chain provenance are the current wave of adopters, with the Industrial sector following fast using digital twin tracking / provenance.

Prior to Blockchain, Kevin was the IBM UK Insurance CTO and led IBM’s Business / Enterprise Architecture Capability.

Kevin will be delivering “Blockchain & AI” at AIBE 2019.


Shamus Rae

Partner and Head of Innovation, KPMG, Digital Labour and Cognitive Automation

Shamus leads Intelligent Automation (transformation/automation through the use of Artificial Intelligence) for KPMG. He strives to transform the firm’s services, and also take this experience into the market place to help clients embrace this new and disruptive technology.

Shamus has led several client projects focusing on Artificial Intelligence strategy and implementation. Widely regarded as a leader in AI within the profession, he works with governments, academia, professional associations and other organisations on the future of work, education and the societal impact of disruptive technologies. In addition, he is the UK leader for Global Business Services.

Shamus spent the last 20 years delivering major transformation programmes and was one of the founders of the Offshoring Industry in the late 1980’s. Shamus founded WNS, now one of the largest Offshore BPO providers. He helped build IBM’s offshore BPO centres including acquisitions and was previously a partner at PWC.

At AIBE 2019, Shamus will be speaking on “Forget about the 20 to 30 year Utopia v Dystopia debate on AI – here is what we need to discuss and execute on now to maximise the opportunity”


Darren Priestnall

Chief Executive Officer, Atlas City

Darren is the Chief Executive Officer of Atlas City with more than 20 years of experience in the software engineering and technology industry. He is a member of the British Computer Society, a Certified Ethical Hacker, a Certified Network Defence Architect and a Certified Blockchain Professional.

Darren is professionally involved at the forefront of emerging technologies, particularly at the intersection of AI and Distributed Ledger Technology. His focus lies primarily in the lawtech, water utilities and supply chain industries.

When not in the office, Darren regularly speaks at conferences and other events, and occasionally accepts speaking engagements at universities such as at the University of Oxford, which he sees as a great platform to discuss current topics and trends in the industry with students and academics.

At the AIBE 2019, Darren will be speaking on “Reaching AI consensus with distributed ledger technology”.


Tony Gjerlufsen

Lead Technologist, SPACE10

Tony is Lead Technologist at SPACE10, heading the exploration of emerging technologies and their implications for people, society and nature. SPACE10 is a research and design lab funded by IKEA, as an independent entity, supporting them in finding new ways of fulfilling their vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.

Tony has previously held positions as both digital product company CTO and creative agency COO, as well as computer science researcher into ubiquitous computing and human-computer interaction.

His current focus is exploring the interplay of augmented reality and adjacent technologies, and artificial intelligence, seeking to empower people’s everyday life by combining the smart support, suggestions and choice of AI with the intuitive presentation and interaction of AR and beyond.

At the AIBE 2019, Tony will be speaking on “Augmented Intelligence – What will happen when almost everyone and everything on the planet is digitally connected?”.


Kevin Lin

President, Tuspark Holdings Inc. (UK)

Kevin graduated from Tsinghua University with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He has more than ten years’ work experience in Chinese financial sectors. He joined Tuspark in 2016, the leading industrial investor and S&T service provider, as Vice-President in charge of international investment and collaborations. He is currently leading Tuspark UK team to manage two science parks in the UK, promote Sino-UK technology businesses communications, and invest in health care, new energy, AI and high-end manufacture.

Mal Harrison

Founder of Centre for Erotic Intelligence, Women of Sextech

Mal Harrison is a clinical sexologist, eroticism philosopher, author, TEDx speaker, and founder of the Center for Erotic Intelligence. As a frequent global lecturer on desire, consumerism, power dynamics, & the future of human relationships, she explores how the erotic mind can empower our everyday lives, offering fresh insights on cultivating erotic intelligence amid ever-evolving technology. In addition to consulting on numerous start-ups in the sextech sector, she is a member of the International Society of Sexual Medicine. Mal has been featured in publications such as WIRED, Mashable, The Guardian, Independent, Herald Scotland, Glamour, NYTimes, Vice, Bild, and more.

Mal will be speaking on “The Future of Desire, Pleasure, & Relationships in an A.I. World”.


Lewis Liu

Co-founder and CEO, Eigen Technologies

Lewis co-founded Eigen Technologies in late 2014. Having started his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in London, he then founded and led the Quantitative Finance & Strategies Division for Aleron Partners LLP, a boutique private equity advisory firm. He is also a former Senior Advisor to Linklaters LLP, where he co-founded the Tactical Opportunities Group, a deal origination team.

Lewis holds a Doctorate in Atomic & Laser Physics from the University of Oxford. During his studies at Oxford, Lewis invented a new class of X-ray laser, and the mathematics behind this invention was later abstracted into Eigen’s core technology. Lewis received Harvard’s first Joint Bachelors in Fine Arts and Physics, as well as a Masters in Theoretical Physics, during which he conducted antihydrogen research at CERN.

Lewis will be speaking on “NLP & The Coming Qualitative Data Revolution”.


Sally Eaves

CEO Sustainable Asset Exchange (SAX), Forbes Technology Council and Professor of Advanced Technologies

A highly experienced Chief Technology Officer, Sally undertakes bespoke projects, specialising in transformational change enabled by disruptive technologies.

She has in-depth knowledge of the transformative capabilities of blockchain and its application across multiple sectors. Sally is a member of the Strategic Management Board for TeamBlockchain and Chief Technology Officer at Mind Fit. She is active across all social media channels, building community, awareness and sharing knowledge. This is underpinned by a breadth of commercial leadership and intrapreneurial experience gained at Orange, Everything Everywhere and T-Systems alongside cutting edge research and study at leading universities including Said Business School, Oxford and Aston Business School. Sally is an international events speaker and established author with 60+ publications in business, technology (Blockchain, VR, AR, AI) and education. Alejandro Saucedo

Chief Scientist at the Institute for Ethical AI & Machine Learning

Alejandro Saucedo is a technology leader with over 10 years of software development experience, currently building the Bell Labs of the 21st century as Chief Scientist at The Institute for Ethical AI & Machine Learning. Throughout his career, Alejandro has held technical leadership positions across hyper-growth scale-ups and tech giants including Eigen Technologies, Bloomberg LP and Hack Partners. Alejandro has a strong track record building multiple departments of machine learning engineers from scratch, and leading the delivery of numerous large-scale machine learning systems across the financial, insurance, legal, transport, manufacturing and construction sectors (in Europe, US and Latin America).


Brent Mittelstadt

Research Fellow, Oxford Internet Institute

Dr. Brent Mittelstadt is a Research Fellow and British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in data ethics at the Oxford Internet Institute, a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute, and a member of the UK National Statistician’s Data Ethics Advisory Committee. His research focuses on digital ethics and governance of algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence, Big Data, and medical expert systems. Currently, he is examining the feasibility of ethical auditing of decision-making algorithms, and the development of standards and methods to ensure fairness, accountability, transparency, and meaningful explanations for ‘black box’ algorithmic systems in ethics and data protection law.
